Dunkin' Donuts Coming to Lincoln Avenue Location in Pelham
A representative of Dunkin' Donuts received a building permit today (Nov. 6) to do renovations to open a retail store to sell pastries and beverages at 33 Lincoln Avenue, the former location of a Milk-n-Things deli.
No timetable for opening the Dunkin' Donuts store was given.
Because there has long been unsubstantiated rumors that franchises and chasin stores cannot open in the Village of Pelham, Village of Pelham Building Inspector Leonard Russo was asked if Dunkin' Donuts is in compliance with Village code. In reply to the question, he said that because the building is not being enlarged and because there will be no reduction in the number of parking spaces on site the applicant is not required to have off site parking. He said the building permit was granted to a representative of TBG Food Acquisions Corp doing buisness as Dunkin' Donuts.
Mr. Russo said the applicant told him that the store will sell donuts and other pastries, coffee and other beverages, salads, sandwiches, packaged coffee beans (Dunkin' Donuts brand), mugs, cups, etc.
The Dunkin' Donuts store will be located in a building that was damaged by fire in March of 2008 and has since been restored. At the time of the fire it housed Milk n Things and Grand Cleaners. However, it has been rebuilt to its original speifications as a 3-store building. Dunkin' Donuts will occupy only the Milk-n-Things space. Mr. Russo said as of now no plans for retail stores in the other two sections of the building have been filed.
