Girl Scouts Remember 300 Veterans With Handmade Gifts and Visits on Veterans Day 2009 (with Slideshow)
![]() |
More than 300 veterans in the Town of Pelham heard the doorbell ring or found a surprise on their doorsteps as 100 Brownies, Girl Scouts or Senior Girl Scouts in uniform delivered a hand decorated gift bag to the home of each veteran. The bag contained a note, cookies and candy — a thank you for each veteran’s service to our country. Also participating were some Tiger and Cub Scouts who have Girl Scout sisters, along with parents and friends. Organizer of the project was Kayla Cartelli, a candidate for the Girl Scout Gold Award.
