Five Guys- Burgers Coming to Pelham Manor
P/A Acadia Pelham Manor Shopping Plaza anchored by BJ’s Wholesale Club is getting a new tenant—Five Guys - Burgers & Fries.
The restaurant chain is where President Obama orders burgers for his staff. The president’s favorite burger reportedly is a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mustard and jalapenos.
P/A Acadia, owner of the Pelham Manor Shopping Plaza, has asked approval of the center’s site plan so that additional dumpster space will be available for Five Guys (in the building along Secor Lane).
According to the Five Guys web site, “there are over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys. We use only fresh, never frozen, ground beef. There are no freezers in Five Guys locations, just coolers. Nothing is ever frozen. We use only Peanut oil. Our menu is trans-fat free.”
The restaurant chain was started in Virginia in 1986 and now has 450 locations in 30 states. The nearest locations are at Bayside Shopping Center or in Queens.
This is part of the December 18, 2009 online edition of The Pelham Weekly.
